Our Program

Our children's cancer program is for all children and teenagers (up to the age of 18) that are going through or have been through cancer treatment. It doesn't matter was stage of treatment you are in, or whether or not you have entered survivorship - we are here to help.  The program focuses on motor skill development, strength, balance and mobility.  Not only does it take into account age appropriate development, but it also takes into consideration the phase of treatment and medication the child has had on the day, the symptoms they are experiencing (if experiencing any), their physical capabilities pre- and post-treatment, and most importantly, their goals.

We use a mix of play-based and exercise-based therapy to ensure all goals are met, and all the decisions are assembled alongside the family as we want to support, inspire and empower every single person involved.  We want everyone to thrive in life, and not be disadvantaged due to the life-saving treatment they needed to receive. We want all children and teenagers to be strong enough to swing on the monkey bars, have enough balance to ride a bike and feel confident enough to join their friends on the basketball court.  No matter their goal, we will be there every step of the way!

The one-on-one consultations are run by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist that has specialised in both oncology and paediatric exercise. Exercise physiologists are university qualified allied health professionals that design and deliver exercise intervention for chronic illness, injury and disability.
